Bearing in mind the impossibility that lays within the task —there could never be an objective and comprehensive list of the ten best films in the history of cinema— I took the liberty of merely putting together a deeply personal one. To me, these films are masterpieces in their own terms. Sure, I regret having to exclude the work of many renowned filmmakers which I admire profusely, but I also chose these ten because I just cannot help coming back to them over and over again: they inspire me, fill me with joy and, moreover, they reaffirm my never-ending love for cinema every single time I watch them. “Greatest Films of All Time”? Maybe, I don’t know. “Greatest Films I Simply Couldn’t Live Without At This Particular Moment in My Life”? You got that right.
