Working Title Films’ contribution to the UK film industry is unparalleled. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner have co-chaired the company since 1992, forging its reputation as a leader in producing quality British films that become international hits – over 130 films that have grossed over $8.5 billion globally.
Their award-winning titles span a rich variety of genres and filmmakers, from Joel and Ethan Coen’s Fargo and Shekhar Kapur’s Elizabeth to Tom Hooper’s The Danish Girl and Les Misérables. Working Title also coproduced Steve McQueen’s Blitz which receives its world premiere as the Opening Night Gala screening at the Festival. BFI Chief Executive Ben Roberts talks with Tim and Eric about their work, UK film production, the transformations of the industry and the market, their relationship to talent and how to create pathways for a new generation of filmmakers.
