For all of us who love cinema, it's very difficult to select just 10 films which would be at the top of a list of films we would watch again and again. But these are definitely 10 films which I really love and which have very personal and special memories for me and are part of significant moments in my life. In any case these are all incredible filmmakers and film artists whose works have remained very influential to many.
As before, there are certain contemporary filmmakers I wish I could have included - among them Pedro Costa, Albert Serra, Bela Tarr, Apichatpong Weerasethakul - but I know they will understand and appreciate the ones who have taken their place in my list.
