The camaraderie, the marriage, the reputation, the romance, the revolution, the city, the mother and daughter, the historian, the bride, and the music. These films have meant so much to me and I return to them often. Some – thanks to recent preservation and access efforts – are new favourites. The creative vision and artistic range of these filmmakers keep me curious, challenged and watching.
