Page of Madness vaulted to my top ten list after experiencing the film with the courageous (!) narration of benshi Kataoka Ichiro.
I'm always torn which Ozu film is the best as nearly any of them will do. That said, and having seen them all, Tokyo Story doesn’t really top my list; however, I vote for it to leverage Ozu past Hitchcock and Welles.
Malick also poses a conundrum. Days of Heaven changed my life, but then Tree of Life is my life.
