A Matter of Life and Death
1946 United Kingdom
Powell and Pressburger's filmography is teeming with classics but this one retains a special place in my heart. Watched it on TV as a young child and years later thought I'd dreamt about this film that was in black-and-white and colour, only to rediscover it years later. A masterpiece. And my favourite of this list.
