Do my personal choices reflect the rich history of international film? Hardly. It is an impossible task to reduce everything important into only ten titles. However, this list features films by most of my all-time favourite directors. Even more importantly, I have included titles that made me feel something strong and pure when I saw them in the cinema (and later saw them again and again). I laughed, I cried, I felt connected, I was in awe. To me, that is the definition of a great film.
