I am saddened that in my list of the ten films that moved me most there are only two made by women. Since the Lumière Brothers so few chances have been given to women to be part of that club... I could have politically chosen ten female-made films I adored of course, just to make a statement, but I wanted to honestly name the films that moved me and made a real difference in my life...
Of course, just as the masters we learn about in film school are only male, the outcome of this poll will also be 80% male... Maybe in a few hundred years this will be different.
