IL ÉTAIT UNE FOIS UN PAYS
1995 France, Germany, Hungary
I understand that the politics of the film are problematic and it has been widely criticised for that reason, and yet I find Underground to be a monumental achievement in filmmaking.
The Act of Killing
2012 Denmark, United Kingdom, Norway, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Netherlands, Poland
Similarly to Underground, this film has me conflicted between its problematic aspects and the sheer impact it had on me.
