Shout out to Fassbinder's Eight Hours Don't Make a Day, Lynch's Twin Peaks: The Return, and Carax's The Lovers on the Bridge – or Pola X? I couldn't single out a favorite film by Wang Bing, King Vidor, Catherine Breillat, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Luchino Visconti, Jean Renoir, Jean Eustache… And then – memory betrays me. Next week, it would be different. But whenever I think about the 10 films I listed, something tightens up inside me, which feels like enough.
