All the President's Men
I am torn - I wanted to put Starting Over with Burt Reynolds and Candice Bergen and Jill Clayburgh.... Or Klute... But it's an election year so I am going with All the President's Men.
A Woman under the Influence
Feels like family.
Wanda
The story, the character, the style and even the behind-the-scenes making of the film are so incredibly inspiring to me as a filmmaker...
The Exorcist
I rewatched this recently for Halloween. NOTHING has come close to being this vile and disturbing yet unbelievably grounded.... Plus Ellen Burstyn. You should do just an Ellen Burstyn favourite movie list.
Point Break
Iconic.
Giant
I have never listed this movie before but I keep circling back to it thematically so I need to put it on the list....
Boogie Nights
I am not sure if I need an explanation....
Moonlight
It feels unfair to put this on the list - because I dearly love Barry Jenkins and Adele Romanski and all my FSU family who made this film... But it continues to grow in importance as time goes on....
Vagabond
This movie encapsulates a wandering spirit in me I have to watch out for - a side that leaves me teetering on a razor's edge...
MIRYANG
Best to go in with no expectations... but the best film I have ever seen about grieving and forgiveness....
Further remarks
It's impossible to make a definitive list. Ask me in a week. It will be different.
