BAFTAs 2022: the nominations in full
Aleem Khan’s After Love, which was funded and distributed by the BFI, has picked up four nominations.
Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic Dune has emerged as the front runner at this year’s BAFTAs, picking up 11 nominations.
Jane Campion’s western The Power of the Dog follows on eight nominations, Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast on six, and Licorice Pizza, No Time to Die and West Side Story all getting five.
Aleem Khan’s After Love, which was funded and distributed by the BFI, has received four nominations, including outstanding British film, best director, outstanding British debut, and best actress for Joanna Scanlan.
Also on four nominations are Boiling Point, Cyrano, Don’t Look Up, Passing and King Richard.
Clio Barnard’s Ali & Ava, another title backed by the BFI Film Fund, is also up for outstanding British film, with Adeel Akhtar nominated as best actor.
The short film The Black Cop by Cherish Oteka is nominated for best British short film. It was funded via the BFI Doc Society Fund and BFI NETWORK.
The Power of the Dog, Belfast, After Love, Passing and King Richard are among the many nominated films that first screened to UK audiences at the BFI London Film Festival.
The nominations were announced at BAFTA by A.J. Odudu and Tom Allen.
