In 2022, there is an industry focus on the UK at the Nigerian International Film & TV Summit. The BFI would like to support this UK focus by sending a broad UK film industry delegation, with the objective of increasing the UK’s presence at international markets, and specifically increasing the level of creative and commercial collaboration between UK and Nigeria / Nollywood.
The special UK focus will equally provide an opportunity to increase the visibility of UK film professionals to the Nigerian film industry.
Attending the Nigerian International Film & TV Summit will provide an opportunity to discuss the potential of collaborating in the business of film with Nigeria. This globally recognised, high-level summit, brings together film professionals to network and forge strong relationships. The summit has been taking place since 2017 in Lagos, as well as in Los Angeles (at AFM) and most recently, in Paris.
We are looking for experienced UK film professionals who are interested in participating in a three day delegation to Lagos, Nigeria, between 29 August and 2 September 2022.
Applicants will need to articulate why they are interested in building strong partnerships and collaborations within the Nigerian film business ecosystem of film finance, distribution and marketing.
The spotlight on the UK will comprise of a series of tailored activities to promote the UK film industry in Nigeria:
- access to panels
- UK focus networking events
- VIP Lunch
- welcome cocktails
- UK country of honour dinner
- opportunity to pitch co-productions to investors, if relevant
- opportunity to take part in screenwriting workshops, if relevant
- opportunity to have their film screened during the summit to attract distribution, if relevant
The BFI together with The Nigerian International Film Summit will cover the following:
- return transfers from the airport to hotel
- local transportation
- 4 nights’ accommodation including breakfast and dinner
- lunches during program
- economy return flights (please note, currently, these will be with one stopover due to the high cost)
- visa requirements
