Call for expression of interest from UK international sales companies to attend: UK Connect at Screen Forever, The Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, 1 to 5 May 2023

The BFI International Fund is supporting UK Connect at Screen Forever, Australia’s premier international industry conference and market taking place from 3 to 5 May in Gold Coast, Queensland.

UK Connect is a collaboration programme that will see a delegation of 10 UK producers with market-ready projects in development and four UK international sales companies travel to Australia to be matched with selected Australian producers to explore co-production, collaboration and export opportunities. By attending a three-day industry event the UK participants will get in-depth insights into the Australian market and will have ample opportunities to network with Australian industry. 

We offer four places for UK international sales companies to join this delegation.

What we cover

The BFI, in partnership with Screen Producers Australia, cover:

  • a return economy flight to Queensland (with an option to upgrade at participant’s own cost)
  • five nights’ accommodation with breakfast (travel can be booked in a flexible way to allow for longer stay in Australia if a participant is happy to cover extra accommodation themselves)
  • visas and airport transfers in Australia
  • entry pass to Screen Forever; and 
  • meals that are part of the event

How to apply

If you are an international sales company and you would like to avail of this offer please send an email to international@bfi.org.uk with an expression of interest answering these two questions:

  1. Please state your reasons for attending UK Connect at Screen Forever. Please highlight your existing work and demonstrate how the trip would be an opportunity to progress your business and deepen and build on existing relationships with film and TV industry professionals in Australia. Please be as specific as possible, referring to your experience and desired outcomes from your participation (up to 500 words).
  2. Using examples of titles from your track record, please provide evidence of your capacity to finance projects, for example by offering MGs, distribution opportunities, and more generally taking projects successfully from development into production, and/or your experience/involvement in co-productions (up to 500 words).

BFI will select up to four companies on the basis of the answers to the questions above.
