Short stories on screen: an English event for KS2

Storytelling is at the heart of filmmaking and we’d like to share some of our favourite short films with you and your pupils.

Bémol (2021)

10:30am to 12:30pm, 25 April 2023, BFI Southbank

Film can be a powerful, highly engaging mdium for helping improve children’s reading, writing and, through this highly interactive event, speaking skills. This event is a great way to explore a wide range of stories on screen with Year 3 and Year 4 pupils. Through discussion, pupils will be asked to compare and contrast, to consider how the narrative of a film develops, and to analyse characters. We want them to leave the event wanting to become storytellers themselves!
