Cross-curricular study day exploring themes of migration, democracy, rights and identity in modern Britain through archive films.

Blood Ah Go Run (1982)

Date: 25 April 2025
Time: 10:30am to 3pm
Location: BFI Southbank

Join us at BFI Southbank for this brand-new, free study day aimed at pupils of both KS3 History and Citizenship, while also exploring themes and topics prevalent in the KS4 specifications for both subjects.

From political propaganda to more personal accounts of the times, the morning session will take students on a journey through modern Britain from WWII to the 1980s looking at a range of archive films from the BFI National Archive that offer the perspectives of people who shaped modern Britain, spotlighting a range of experiences and voices.

Archive films from this period will be discussed through guided learning activities, and in the context of cross-curricular topics of migration, identity, democracy, and media. This session is aimed towards learning outcomes in these areas of study, and will also be suitable for those studying Politics, PSHE, and Sociology.

The afternoon will include an introduced screening and Q&A with guest speakers.
