10:30am to 12:30pm, 28 June, in-venue at BFI Southbank
This event is an ideal way to introduce pupils to the world of Shakespeare, his plays and how they have been adapted for the screen. We will explore Shakespeare’s life, the role of the Globe Theatre, plus in-depth analysis of extracts from some of his famous plays, from Macbeth to Romeo and Juliet and with a sprinkling of magic and chaos from A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The day will include drama activities around soliloquies and famous scenes, character analysis and compare different traditional and modern adaptations of Shakespeare’s work, including animations, silent film and musicals.
