Senior Curator of Special Collections
Claire Smith is Senior Curator of Special Collections at the BFI National Archive, where she works with the team responsible for filmmakers’ papers, design, posters and photographs. She curated the BFI exhibition The Red Shoes: Beyond the Mirror (2023), and co-edited The Cinema of Powell and Pressburger (London: Bloomsbury, 2023). She has published with the V&A Museum, The Henry Moore Foundation, Royal Academy, Courtauld Institute and BFI, and is currently co-investigator on the AHRC funded research project, Film Costumes in Action.
