Will Greenacre

Will joined the BFI National Archive in July 2024 as a curatorial archivist, focusing on a project to review and enhance information on the BFI’s historic collections to make them more discoverable and accessible. He has interests in the history of moving image formats, and in British historical documentary and social history film.

Before joining the BFI, Will was a collections information officer and then archivist at Wellcome Collection, where he catalogued contemporary archive collections on themes of science and health, including part of the Audrey Amiss archive (featured in the film Typist Artist Pirate King), as well as carrying out an inventory of the moving image and sound collections. Prior to that he worked in the Wellcome Trust policy team and at the Science Media Centre. He has a postgraduate diploma in Archives and Records Management from the University of Dundee, and previously studied biological sciences and science communication.
