Digital Media Specialist

Mat has worked in the Digital Operations team (DigiOps) at the National Archive in Berkhamsted since 2012, working with many forms of digital media and file formats. He was the second Digital Operations Specialist at the Conservation Centre and has been responsible for adapting and developing processes and workflows for an ever changing digital environment, helping to bring the archive’s analogue collections into an accessible digital world.

Digi-Ops provide access to files which are born-digital or digitised from legacy analogue (film and video) material held in the collection. Other key functions of Digi-Ops include: file creation, transcoding, accessioning, quality assessment and preservation of BFI Film Fund deliverables, curator acquisitions and digital media from grant-in aid projects.
