Dylan Cave

Dylan worked for Oxford’s Phoenix Picturehouse before joining the BFI National Archive in 1999. He develops, writes and presents on the archive’s fiction collection and leads in acquiring new British features and shorts. His current research interests are in contemporary production, British short film and aspects of moving image ephemera, particularly trailers.

A co-programmer of the Projecting the Archive strand, in 2011 he curated a season of postwar British Empire films. He also contributes to Sight & Sound and has recently written for FIAF’s Journal of Film Preservation, the BFI Compendium 39 Steps to the Genius of Hitchcock (BFI, 2012) and the anthology Ealing Revisited (Palgrave/BFI, 2012).
