Late Mizoguchi Blu-rays

Win eight films from 1951-1956, including Ugetsu monogatari, Gion bayashi and Mizoguchi’s last masterpiece, Akasen chitai.

Eureka Entertainment bring together a collection of Kenji Mizoguchi’s final films on Blu-ray for the first time this October.

The set features Ugetsu monogatari (1951), Gion bayashi – a drama set in the world of the geisha – Uwasa no onna (1954) – the tragic love story of a forbidden love affair between a merchant’s wife and her husband’s employee – and Akasen chitai, Mizoguchi’s final film depicting the goings-on in a Tokyo brothel.

Special features include Tony Rayns video discussions on each of the eight films and original trailers. The set also comes with an illustrated booklet of compiled material.
