Consultancy projects

Craft filmmaking training, diversity and inclusion courses and projects tailored to the needs of UK and international organisations.

International Film Course students at Pinewood Studios

Whether you are an international producer, government, training facility, charity or other organisation, we are keen to find opportunities to work together.

Recent partners include Google, The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, and IMDA on behalf of the Singapore government.

Examples of our past consultancy courses and projects can be seen below:

Courses

Business of film

Through a five-day beginner course for aspiring producers and a 10-day intermediate course for existing producers, this programme developed expertise in the international film business, including the entertainment value chain and the path from creative development through to international sales and distribution.

Diversity and inclusion

Across two sessions, final-year students aspiring to work in the moving-image sector discussed subjects such as unconscious bias, contested heritage and issues of access with industry professionals.

Digital marketing

Targeted at professionals working in marketing, branding and communications, we developed a series of digital marketing classes on how to use film as an effective marketing tool.

Filmmaking for advocacy

As part of the Young Women’s Advocacy Forum, we delivered an intensive two-week online training programme where 15 young women with no filmmaking experience came together to share their thoughts and ideas on advocacy using the medium of film.

Pitching and filmmaking

As an extra-curricular activity or as part of the school day, we have taught filmmaking and pitching skills to independent schools to supplement subjects such as art and drama and for student projects, including submissions for the RSA Pupil Design Awards.

Producer development (only available outside the UK)

Developed for creative producers who had made at least two short films and were looking to expand their skills, experience and network, this two-week programme aimed to help students progress to feature-length films or documentaries.

Script to screen (only available outside the UK)

This two-week programme took aspiring screenwriters through the entire process of creating a film. Working with industry-leading tutors, students were given the opportunity to premiere their work at Pinewood Studios.

Projects

Film expertise for promotional campaign

For an interactive campaign on the Google Play store, we selected films which were geotagged and found by smartphone users.

Screenings and children’s workshops

As part of a three-year partnership with an international holiday resort, we delivered a series of workshops for children hailed by parents as the highlight of their trip. We also programmed a series of family-friendly screenings in unforgettable places, with an in-person introduction from a BFI expert.
