About us

The Gate exists to enrich the lives of people across Cardiff: we have three main focuses in doing so:

promoting the arts

Educating, performing, engaging and promoting the arts in all its forms. From Drama and Dance to Music, Concerts, Theatre or Opera, the Written Word or Visual Art, allowing it to be expressed, experienced and enjoyed.

developing individuals

Lives are not just of great worth, they are priceless. We see people develop across the board, learn not just skills but about themselves, change lives and families through those lives. Users, class-members, interns, volunteers or staff, we want to see all grow and develop.

engaging in community

We treat our local community as anyone who can walk here! We’re passionate about seeing relationships and connections grow. We’re here to serve, and we want to do that in as many helpful and encouraging ways as possible, to engage with real problems in a tangible way.
