This Filthy Earth

Based on Émile Zola’s classic, ‘La Terre’, This Filthy Earth is the heartrending story of sisters Kath (Demelza Randall) and Francine (Rebecca R. Palmer) whose lives are disrupted by two men – a cruel villager greedy for the girls’ land and a gentle stranger who offers the possibility of escape. Andrew Kötting’s first fictional feature (he previously directed the award-winning documentary Gallivant) is an unflinching examination of isolated rural hardship.
