The BFI Reuben Library

What are the library’s opening times?

The BFI Reuben Library is open from 10.30am until 7pm, Tuesday – Saturday.

Is the library open during holiday periods?

The library is closed over Christmas, Easter, and on all public holidays. Please also note that we do not open on Sundays.

Is there a charge for using the BFI Reuben Library?

No, the library is free to use and open to everyone.

I’d like to organise a group visit. How do I arrange this?

If you’re a school, college or other group that would like to make a study visit, please get in touch using this form. We do our best to fit in as many groups as we can, but sometimes space restrictions in the BFI Reuben Library mean this may not be possible.

I’m searching for a certain article or book. Is it available in the library?

We have a catalogue for you to browse before your visit. The BFI Reuben Library catalogue lists all of our books and journals, theses, pamphlets, film distribution catalogues, annuals and directories.

Can I request materials (such as articles) before my visit?

If we have the article, you can complete an advance request form before your visit. You can ask for up to five items in advance.

Would the BFI Reuben Library be interested in a copy of my thesis?

We are always interested in obtaining theses, published books and articles to fill the gaps in our collection. Please get in touch for more information.
